At Western Equipment, we carry a large variety of power tools from some of the best brands on the market, such as Makita and Milwaukee, which are specifically designed for working with metal, wood, and concrete.

Grinders are hand-held power tools that are specifically designed for grinding (abrasive cutting) and polishing. This type of power tool is extremely versatile and can be used to grind metal; cut tile, stucco, and pavers; rout out mortar; as well as sand, polish, and sharpen. Grinders can also be powered by three distinctive options: pneumatic air, corded, and cordless. Some of the different types of grinders we carry include:

Angle grinders

Straight grinders

Die grinders

Bandfile grinders

A power drill/driver is an electric motor that rotates a replaceable drill bit in order to make a hole in various materials, such as wood, plastic, or metal. Power drills/drivers can be powered by three different options: corded, cordless, and pneumatic air. Corded drills/drivers are powered by a 110-volt electrical cord inserted into an electrical receptacle; cordless drills/drivers are powered by a battery in the drill's handle; and pneumatic drills are powered through the use of compressed air. Power drills/drivers can be used in a range of different applications, such as:

DIY Projects

A hammer drill looks similar to a regular drill/driver; however, it is specifically designed to provide fast and furious brute strength in order to drive the bit further into the material being worked on. This type of power tool excels at plowing through concrete and other masonry materials. Hammer drills are available in different power options: cordless, corded, and pneumatic.

While impact drivers look similar to power drills/drivers, they are specifically engineered to do one job: drive screws. Impact drivers use both bit rotation and concussive blows to power-drive screws through even the thickest, densest woods. This type of power tool offers two to three times more torque than the average power drill/driver. Despite its brute strength, an impact driver is easy and comfortable to use because the concussive action transfers much of the high-energy torque directly to the screw.

Electric power sanders are the best, quickest, and easiest way to sand wood smooth. This type of power tool comes with a dust-collection bag or dust port of attaching a wet/dry vacuum. Power sanders come in a variety of different options that are designed to allow you to sand virtually any surface or edge. Some of the different types of sanders we carry include:

Belt sanders

Orbital finishing sanders

Random-orbit sanders

Detail sanders

Drum sanders

Cordless LXT tools from Makita are specifically designed to provide users with the most advanced, durable, and dependable 18V tools on the market. These power tools feature fast-charging LXT batteries that last up to 50% longer than other batteries, offering constant power and run time in even extreme temperatures. Cordless LXT tools also boast the world's largest compatible lithium-ion system, which means that one battery pack can be used on multiple different power tools.
